(VOVworld)- The Russian Ministry has reported that mortar shells landed at the Russian Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday killing one Syrian and injuring 9 others. The Russian Foreign Ministry described it as an act of terrorism, and demanded that the perpetrators and those who encouraged and directed them be punished. In recent months, insurgents have launched a series of rocket and mortar attacks in Damascus, where many foreign embassies and Syria’s most important offices are located. In September, mortar shells landed in the vicinity of the Russian Embassy and in February, a bomb exploded in this area.
