(VOVworld) – The monthly government meeting for July opened in Hanoi on Tuesday. Cabinet members reported that inflation has been controlled, the macro economy has been stabilized and measures including reduced interest rates and tax exemption and deferment have helped to remove difficulties for business production.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the target of inflation control is feasible but that it will be difficult to obtain a 5.5% economic growth rate this year: “We should continue to stabilize the macro economy and control inflation. It’s essential to improve the quality of growth and competitiveness.”

The Prime Minister noted that the ministries and localities should provide timely information to the media in order to create social consensus in trying to achieve this year’s socio-economic targets.
