The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, and relevant agencies.

This year’s global theme, initiated by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), is “Beat Plastic Pollution.”

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Cong Thanh stressed that plastic pollution is no longer a challenge limited to one nation, but a global crisis that demands urgent, coordinated solutions.

Quang Ninh Vice Chairman Nghiem Xuan Cuong reaffirmed the province’s commitment to environmental protection, tackling plastic waste, and improving quality of life for residents.

The 2025 campaign aims to foster a network of circular economy initiatives, promote sustainable consumption habits, and contribute to Vietnam’s broader green development objectives.
