The pair of Mong Cai (Vietnam)-Dongxing (China) International Border Gate resumed entry-exit activities earlier this year, after being suspended for almost three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of Thursday, nearly 870,000 tons of goods had been traded via the border gate, up 153% over the same period last year, with turnover of 1.7 billion USD.
Nguyen Ngoc Thu, Vice Head of the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, said: "In the near future, we can expect a surge in the import and export of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products from Vietnam to China, especially fruits from the South."
Recently, Mong Cai city has implemented trade promotion policies to connect businesses from Can Tho and southern provinces with international partners, he added.
