Monday's COVID-19 caseload in Vietnam hits 8,390

(VOVWORLD) - The Health Ministry confirmed 8,390 new COVID-19 infections in 39 localities on Tuesday, sending the ongoing coronavirus wave's tally to more than 224,000.
HCM city recorded the highest number of cases (3,956), followed by its neighboring provinces of Binh Duong (1,325) cases and Long An (890). Hanoi detected 61 new cases.

Vietnam has reported local COVID-19 cases in 62 of its 63 cities and provinces since the latest wave started in late April, leaving northern Cao Bang the only province that has yet to be infected.

HCM city accounted for more than half of the total count, with nearly  123,000. 

More than 80,000 patients across the country have recovered while nearly 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
