Missions overseas urged to help National Assembly deepen cooperation with other legislatures

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on Monday met with ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad who returned to attend the 31st Diplomatic Conference in Hanoi.

Mr. Hue said the National Assembly will strengthen the ratification of international treaties that Vietnam has signed in line with Party guidelines and State laws.

He said the National Assembly will also supervise the implementation of international treaties on new-generation free trade agreements and borders and territories in order to create an impetus for strong development and integration and ensure national defense and national interests.

The top legislator asked Vietnamese missions overseas to help deepen cooperation between Vietnamese National Assembly and parliaments of other countries, boost Vietnam’s relations with strategic and comprehensive partners, accelerate research and forecasting, and provide policy consultation in the diplomatic area.
