The houses will be completed by September 2, Vietnam’s National Day. Mr. Ly Hinh, a resident of Dai Tam commune, is one of the recipients.
"The two of us grow vegetables and sell them for a living. Our house is dilapidated. Rain water leaks from the roof and I had to cover it temporarily with a rubber sheet. I am very happy to have a new home," Hinh said.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang reiterated the Party and State view that "economic development should be coupled with sustainable poverty reduction and social security assurance".
In VN’s tradition of the haves helping the have nots, the Ministry of Public Security has cared for and improved the quality of life of disadvantaged people, he said.
"We have worked with provinces and cities to survey places where people are having difficulties so we can help them. This is a very meaningful program. We’ve worked hard to make sure that people stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer," said Quang.
From 2019 to 2022, Soc Trang province built 5,200 houses for people with meritorious service and poor households in urgent need of housing.
