Addressing the event, the 13th of its kind, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh said the program honors individuals and organizations who have made great contributions to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children.
The same day, nearly 780,000 USD was donated at a program for the poor and Agent Orange victims in the northern province of Ha Nam to welcome Tet. The organizers plan to present gifts to more than 11,000 disadvantaged households and victims across the locality.
This year’s Tet will begin on January 25.
