Mid-autumn Festival organized for disadvantaged children

(VOVWORLD) - Thai Nguyen provincial authorities, charities and Samsung Vietnam held a Mid-autumn festival celebration for local disadvantaged children. 350 kids from poor families, ethnic groups and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic benefited from the charity program.

In Quang Nam province’s Tam Ky City, local authorities and organizations held celebration for some 1500 disadvantaged children.

Nearly 15,000 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts were presented to children in Da Nang City on Friday. Tran Pham Nhu Y from Thanh Khe district is one of the beneficiaries: “I am glad to receive the gift and enjoy lion dance and circus shows.”

On Friday night, Saigontourist Group, Youth Newspaper and local Youth Unions in Ho Chi Minh City held a celebration for more than 500 kids affected by the pandemic, following earlier events in Bac Kan, Cao Bang and Dak Lak provinces this week, where kids received cakes, school utensils and scholarship.

In the southern Soc Trang province, border guards took the lead to hold celebration for local children. Major Nguyen Hung Anh from Vinh Hai Border Guard Station: “Most local kids are of ethnic groups with disadvantages. That’s why we organize an evening of Mid-autumn festival celebration for them to have fun. We sent staff to visit children living in remote areas and present them with gifts too.”

More than 1,000 gifts and dozens of scholarships were presented to children in Binh Thuan province’s highlands on this occasion.
