Visitors at the opening ceremony enjoyed a lion dance, children’s arts performances, and folk games. Local authorities presented gifts for poor children and scholarships for students with outstanding academic results.
An array of activities will be held during the nine-day event, including the 8th lion dance festival, which sees a competition between 18 teams in the city, a contest on arranging a traditional Mid-autumn feast, a lantern procession, folk games, circus acts, and children’s martial arts.
A fair is being held until September 24 along pedestrian streets to introduce traditional Vietnamese moon cakes, the making of folk toys, and the art of flower arrangement and fruit carving.
