Dujarric said Guterres will lay a wreath in honor of Annan and deliver a speech at a ceremony on Wednesday morning at the UN headquarters in New York. A book of condolences will be in place at the UN headquarters till the end of the week, and the UN flag will be at half-mask until Tuesday, he said.
Kofi Annan served as UN Secretary General from 1997 to 2006. He died in Berne, Switzerland, from an illness. Swiss President Alain Berset called Annan a man with strategic vision and a friend of Switzerland.
