(VOVworld) – 70 outstanding marine soldiers showed their determination to defend Vietnam’s sovereignty over the sea and islands on Monday while offering incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum. The offering ceremony opened a series of activities held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh city for soldiers stationed on the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 platform and the marine police.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen The Sanh is working on the DK1 platform. He said: “The Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh city and the municipal People’s Committee have organized a lot of activities for us. I hope such activities will be held frequently. We promise to devote ourselves to firmly defending Vietnam’s sovereignty over the sea and islands to meet the aspiration of all Vietnamese people.”
During their stay in Ho Chi Minh city, marine soldiers will meet with members of the youth union and the women’s association and workers. They will also attend a ceremony to honor military officers and soldiers who have made outstanding contributions to national defense in 2014.
