Promulgated early this month, the resolution sets new directions, adapted to the new context, for each region’s development, said Mr. Tuan Anh.
“The resolution covers the region’s strategic location and the need to include the region’s growth, defense, and security in the national development strategy, which requires further improvements in mechanisms, policies, and links to 5 other socio-economic regions in Vietnam,” according to Mr. Tran Tuan Anh.

He added, as all 14 provinces and cities in the region border the East Sea, the development of the marine economy is vital to their growth.
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh said exploitation and promotion of marine economic potentials must be linked to the completion of economic corridors to give Vietnam fully developed coastal economic zones.
