The same day, Tokyo announced that it had 370 new cases of COVID-19. This figure exceeded the record of 366 cases last Thursday. This has raised concerns about the risk of a sharp increase in new infections in Japan after the country lifted the coronavirus emergency status in May.

India’s Ministry of Health reported more than 52,000 new cases in the past 24 hours, the highest number recorded in a single day there. With 775 deaths, total fatalities in India reached about 35,000. The total number of infection cases has exceeded 1.5 million.

The Peruvian Ministry of Health on Wednesday announced that the number of COVID-19 infection cases exceeded 400,000 after it recorded 5,678 new cases in a single day, the highest number in more than six weeks. 204 people died, bringing the fatalities to nearly 19,000 in Peru.
