Major cities intensify fight against COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) -By the Monday afternoon, Hanoi recorded more than 88,000 people returning from Da Nang, of whom nearly 71,000 cases have been given a rapid test, said Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

At a meeting of the Hanoi Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Monday, Mr Chung said the Hanoi Department of Health and relevant units have carried out prompt zoning and stamping out the outbreak as 2 cases of COVID-19 were reported. He said  "Every family is a fortress, every citizen is a soldier" in epidemic prevention and control.

On the same day, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan underlined early prevention and people’s awareness in epidemic prevention. He said three main solutions must be focused on: wearing masks, safe production and safe business and prevention of illegal entry.

Quang Nam Central General Hospital on Tuesday began receiving COVID-19 patients from quarantine facilities for treatment. Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Truong Son said the Ministry is committed to providing medical supplies and expertise to the hospital.
