Over the last 10 years, the Department has been fighting subversive schemes by reactionary forces at home and abroad to sabotage the State and has been helping to implement religious and ethnic policies, reduce poverty, ensure political security, and boost socio-economic development in the southwestern region. In his address, Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang asked the Department to continue to improve its operations: “It’s essential to mobilize the support of ethnic minority people, particularly the Khmer to detect and foil subversive schemes by hostile forces. It’s also important to consolidate the political system, maintain social security and public order, particularly along the border with Cambodia, and implement border delineation and marker planting. Coordination with Cambodian agencies is needed to fight crimes and neutralize plots by reactionary forces abroad to sabotage the Vietnamese state.”

Minister Quang presented the Department with the National Defense Order, second class and the Feat Order, third class.
