Andersson is the first female Prime Minister in Swedish history, taking over from PM Stefan Löfven, who has held the position for 7 years.

Andersson is expected to lead a single-party Social Democratic government. She has promised to prioritize social welfare, climate, crime, and immigration issues during her tenure.
