Localities welcome large numbers of visitors during Lunar New Year holiday

(VOVWORLD) -The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomed 660,000 tourists during the 2023 Lunar New Year Festival, which ended on Thursday. Popular destinations included UNESCO-recognized Ha Long Bay and the Yen Tu Complex of Monuments and Lanscapes.

The central province of Khanh Hoa welcomed 150,000 guests with room bookings exceeding 77% of capacity. Visitors immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere, attended art shows, lion dances, and music shows, and played folk games, according to Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.  

“We have closely coordinated with localities to hold a series of culture and art events to welcome the New Year and promote the image of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa to our domestic and foreign friends.”

In the northern province of Ninh Binh, 400,000 visitors, including 30,000 foreigners,visited attractions such as Bai Dinh Pagoda Complex, the Trang An and Tam Coc-Bich Dong tourist areas; Hoa Lu ancient capital.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the city’s Flower Street and New Year's Book Street welcomed 1.2 million visitors, including Nguyen Minh Truong Giang.  

“This year’s Tet Book Street and Nguyen Hue Flower Street is grander than last year. There are several mascots in Flower Street and there are many rare historical books in Book Street. Nguyen Hue Flower Street is more crowded than ever,” he said.
