This effort is to minimize the number of infection cases. All tourist sites have been closed and sterilized.

The northern mountainous province of Lai Chau has beefed up its communications to encourage public health declaration on spot. Dr Bui Ngoc Chuyen from the provincial Center for Disease Control talks about preventive efforts at border gates:

 “We have screened and classified arrivals for timely quarantine. We have provided support to illiterate people to detect possible infection cases. Ethnic people have been assisted with translation to verify information they declare.”

In the central province of Quang Binh, tourist sites will be closed as from March 17 for public health purposes.
