(VOVworld) – 150 students from Laos and Cambodia celebrated their traditional New Year festival in Ho Chi Minh city on Monday. At the celebration held by the municipal Youth Union, foreign students and locals enjoyed traditional rituals to welcome a new year of greater luck and happiness.

Kamhoung Chanthavong is a Laotian student. He said: "We are very happy to be enjoying our traditional customs although we are far from home. We consider Vietnam our second home, so we don’t feel homesick. We thank the authorities for facilitating our study and helping us celebrate this significant occasion".

The city leaders have created favorable conditions for Laotian and Cambodian students, strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
