The Vientiane Times on Thursday reported that the Vietnamese government sent medical experts and workers as well as medical equipment to help prevent and contain the spread of the coronavirus. Vietnam sent an aid package to Laos on Tuesday with 2 million facemasks, 10 tons of disinfectants and medical equipment, and cash worth 500,000 USD. The Vientiane Times praised Vietnam’s repeated support for Laos to help contain the disease. It quoted Lao officials as saying that Vietnam’s assistance has contributed significantly to their efforts to prevent and contain COVID-19.
