At his inauguration ceremony, the new president said he’ll try to fulfill the commitments he made during his election campaign – to carry out radical reform measures in macroeconomic management to deal with high inflation and budget deficits in Latin America’s third major economy. He said the top priority of the new government will be to revive a economy that’s mired in debt.
President Milei pledged to soon introduce reform measures in security, healthcare, and education, which he said have seen significant setbacks in the past few years.
He advocated stronger links with the US, Israel, and Europe in his foreign policy.
