Japanese passenger on Vietnam Airlines flight tests positive for Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) - Japanese health officials said one Japanese citizen who traveled on Vietnam Airlines flight VN340 from Ho Chi Minh city to Nagoya on Tuesday has tested positive for Covid-19. 

The passenger boarded Vietnam Airlines flight VN814 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, transited at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and continued on to Japan. Six people who disembarked from flight VN814 in Ho Chi Minh city, are under observation by authorities.

When flight VN341 returned to Ho Chi Minh city from Nagoya on Wednesday, all flight crew and passengers were taken to an isolation area in Ho Chi Minh city to begin a 14-day quarantine. No one has shown any symptoms of respiratory disease.

Vietnamese authorities have sanitized all aircrafts and facilities used by the infected Japanese passenger.
