A small truck driven by a local man smashed into the Japanese Embassy in central Seoul on Monday morning, but no casualties were reported, said police. The policemen on guard immediately arrested the man. After the initial interrogation, the police discovered that  results shows that the man’s motivation was due to territorial disputes between Seoul and Tokyo over Dokdo island or Takeshima as it is called in Japan.

Last month a 47-year-old Japanese man erected a wooden post beside the bronze statue of a young girl in front of the Japanese embassy. The slim white post tied to the statue read "Dokdo is Japanese territory," a claim in line with those made by rightwing Japanese extremists.
