Japan, US urge North Korea to abandon all missiles

(VOVWORLD) - A White House annoucement on Thursday said Japan and the US had urged North Korea to abandon short and medium-range missiles that could strike Japan as well as the North’s intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of hitting the US mainland.

The suggestion came during the two-day summit in Palm Beach, Florida between US president Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. They also agreed that they would seek to have North Korea end its nuclear and missile programs in a "complete, verifiable, and irreversible way," and also agreed to continue to exert "maximum pressure" on Pyongyang.
