If held, the meeting would be their first since President Trump’s inauguration on Friday. A Japanese diplomatic source on Wednesday reported that the two leaders will discuss trade issues following Trump’s issuing of an executive order Monday to pull the US out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and US-Japan alliance. The same day, Abe said the Japanese government is finalizing preparation for the meeting, which he hopes to be held “as soon as possible”.
