This was the first official meeting between the two leaders since South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol took office on May 10.

The two discussed ways to improve bilateral relations and resolve historical disagreements. Park said the Korean Government will make every effort to come up with a reasonable remedy for the wartime labor issue, and the two sides agreed that this issue should be resolved quickly.

The two also agreed to promote cooperation with the US to address North Korea's nuclear weapon and missile programs.
