(VOVworld)- Japanese Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) raised the severity level of a radioactive water leak at the Fukushima plant to level 3, the highest level within the last 2 years. Previously, it was rated at level 1 out of 7. The NRA said it would inform the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about the case and ask for verification of the accuracy of the evaluation. The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), which directs the Fukushima plant, said that engineers are trying to fix the problem by soldering the leaks and moving all the remaining radioactive water to another safety container. About 300 tons of radioactive water leaked into the environment from the 1000-ton container. TEPCO is examining whether anything similar happened to any of the other 350 containers.
