Japan is followed by Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, China, Hungary, Singapore, and Romania.
Overall, Vietnam has sent more than 85,000 workers abroad in seven months, meeting 77.47% of the target set for the whole year.
In the past few years, Japan has been the leading recipient of Vietnamese guest workers as this market offers attractive working conditions and income, opening up job opportunities for Vietnamese workers.
Recently, the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture signed a Memorandum of Understanding on legal framework cooperation in sending Vietnamese workers to Japan in July 2023.
Wakayama wants to recruit Vietnamese interns, Specified-Skilled workers and engineers to address a shortage in human resource in the prefecture.
