The incident took place at around 2 pm local time and was China’s first intrusion this year. China Coast Guard ships last entered the waters on December 30th. A coast guard patrol ship issued a warning urging the ships, identified as the Haijing 2115, 2151 and 2337, to leave the area. A response transmitted from one of the vessels claimed the waters belonged to China.
