(VOVworld)- The number of people who have left Italy to join the Islamic State extremist group stands at 65, said Italy’s Counter- Terrorism Unit (NOCS) on Wednesday. According to NOCS, more than 3,000 Europeans have joined IS, half of them from France, 1000 from the UK, 650 from Germany, and 400 from Belgium .In his address to the Schengen Committee on Thursday, the chief of Italy’s anti-terrorism unit, Mario Papa, said that although the number is small, the main problem is their return, which coalition attacks and crises within the movement could speed. Since the Schengen Committee allows free travel in the EU, these militiamen can go to Syria and Iraq from Italy.
