Speaking at the ceremony, Einat Halevi Levin, President of the Israel-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, said that the decision to open the Israel-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce was made because of the great potential for relations and strong growth between the two countries.
The Chamber hopes to support all Israeli and Vietnamese businesses that can grow together, with the goal of doubling the value of bilateral trade thanks to the introduction of a free trade agreement, she said.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral trade turnover hit 1.8 billion USD last year, up from 1.6 billion USD of 2020 and 1.2 billion USD of 2019.
