The agreement will not take effect until it receives an approved by the Israeli government. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the controversial agreement was approved by a 7-3 vote on Wednesday, adding that the ministers agreed on restoring full diplomatic ties with Turkey.

Israel’s Jewish Home ministers vowed to protest the agreement because it doesn’t force Turkey to put pressure on Hamas in the Gaza Strip to return two Israeli civilians who are being held by Hamas and the bodies of two Israelis who were killed in Gaza in 2014 during the summer war.
