(VOVworld) - At least six Palestinians, including women and children, have been injured in a series of Israeli air strikes targeting different parts of the Gaza Strip early on Friday morning. According to some military sources, the air strikes were aimed at a milk factory in Gaza city and a militants’ base in the south Gaza strip, in retaliation for rockets targeting Israel over the past few days.
Earlier, Israeli security forces said the country’s Iron Dome missile defense system had intercepted a rocket fired from the Strip on Thursday while another rocket hit land but caused no casualties. The Israeli army also said it had arrested more than 30 Palestinians in the West Bank.
Clashes have escalated over the past few days between the Israeli army and gunmen from the Gaza Strip as Tel Aviv accused the ruling Hamas movement of masterminding the kidnapping of 3 Israeli students.
