Israel has strongly condemned the firing of rockets from Lebanese territory at Israel and demanded the Lebanese government take responsibility for the incident, adding that the attacks could lead to massive destruction in Lebanon.
Israel says it will not allow harm to its citizens and will take retaliatory acts against Hezbollah’s bases across Lebanon.
Israeli army spokesman Amnon Scheffler told reporters that his country doesn’t want to escalate into an all-out war, but of course are ready for that.
Scheffler said that 19 rockets were fired at Israel from Lebanon, but no casualties were reported.
The Lebanese Hezbollah claimed responsibility for firing rockets at Israel, two days after the two sides exchanged shelling.
