(VOVworld) – The Islamic State released a video Tuesday that shows a masked IS militant beheading a second US journalist and threatening to kill a British hostage.

According to the SITE Intelligence Group, a US terrorism watchdog, the video shows Steven Sotloff, a 31-year-old freelance journalist from Florida, who was kidnapped in Syria in August, 2013, wearing an orange jumpsuit and keeling in the desert. The militant criticizes US attacks on the IS and beheads Sotloff. He then mentions another hostage assumed to be of British nationality.

On August 19, the IS released a video of the beheading of US journalist James Foley who was kidnapped in Syria in 2012. After the video’s release, leaders of many countries including the US and Britain strongly criticized the brutal act.
