(VOVworld) – The Iraqi President’s Office urged Iraq’s newly elected parliament to convene next Tuesday, to start forming a new government, insurgents threaten Iraq’s unification.

The office of Iraq's vice president Khudair al Khuzai, who is also Iraq’s acting president and a close ally of Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki, confirmed that the meeting will take place next week under the chairmanship of the oldest of the 328 parliamentarians elected on April 30. The parliament must choose a new president within 30 days.
