(VOVworld) - Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey arrived in Iraq on Monday to discuss military cooperation and the fight against Islamic State (IS).

Dempsey said the anti-IS campaign was on course and going fine, with IS under great pressure in almost every corner of Iraq. He also said that the international coalition against IS could be jeopardized if the Baghdad government failed to bridge Iraq’s sectarian divide. Gen. Dempsey called on Iraqi authorities to uphold the rights of its Sunni Arab and Kurdish communities.
