(VOVWORLD) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday quoted Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian as saying that Tehran is serious about returning to full compliance with its commitments to all parties involved in the 2015 nuclear deal if others are also ready, adding that the exchange of indirect messages with the United States continues.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement, in a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday in New York, Amir-Abdollahian applauded the recent prisoner swap between Iran and the US and the release of Iran’s frozen assets in South Korea.

He said if the other parties are ready, Iran is serious about returning to the nuclear deal so that all signatories will return to their commitments. Abdollahian insisted that atomic bombs have no place in Iran's defense doctrine.
