The event offered new opportunities for the two countries’ tourism industry to work together, especially when Iran has unilaterally waived 15-day tourist visas for Vietnamese citizens.

Addressing the event, Iran's Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Ali-Asghar Shalbafian said, “Through this conference, we hope that the most honest images of Iran will be fully conveyed to Vietnamese travel businesses so that they can introduce to the Vietnamese people, helping Vietnamese people have more information about Iran, further promoting the cultural and tourism relations between Iran and Vietnam.”

The first Iranian tourism promotion conference in Vietnam attracted nine reputable and experienced inbound and outbound travel companies in Iran and representatives of Vietnamese travel companies and tourism organizations.

As part of the event, there was a business-to-business exchange between tourism companies of the two countries.
