The negotiation was attended by the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey. A joint statement underscored the importance of peaceful dispute resolution, respect for sovereignty, political independence, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
The next meeting of foreign ministers in the "3+3" format will take place in Turkey in the first half of 2024, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan welcomed the Tehran negotiations, and said he hopes for momentum in the normalization and peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian called the negotiations a historic opportunity for all countries in the region.
