International workshop seeks to boost cruise tourism

(VOVWORLD) - Cruise tourism trends in Asia and plans to promote cruise tourism in Vietnam topped the agenda of an international workshop on Thursday as part of National Tourism Year 2018 in Quang Ninh province.

Ngo Hoai Chung, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: “Vietnam’s cruise tourism faces a number of challenges, including limited infrastructure. The workshop is an opportunity to boost Quang Ninh’s tourism and introduce Vietnam’s first International Passenger Terminal. The province will soon welcome its fifteen millionth visitor and is expected to take the lead in developing Vietnam’s cruise tourism”.

Workshop participants made proposals related to new laws, infrastructure investment, new tourism products, and cruise tourism market expansion.
