International leaders condemn bombing attack in Afghanistan

(VOVWORLD) - The Security Council has condemned the Saturday's terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, which left at least 95 people dead and 158 others injured.

The council underlined the need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice, and urged all states to cooperate actively with the Afghan government and all other relevant authorities in this regard.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also strongly condemned the attack, which he said is grave violation of human rights and international humanitarian law. He expressed his solidarity with the government and people of Afghanistan.

US President Donald Trump urged all countries to take resolute actions against the Taliban and other terrorists supporting them. Trump said this terrorist attack increased the US and the Afghan government’s determination to fight the Taliban.

Palestine and India have also strongly condemned the deadliest car bomb attack decribing it as barbaric and dastardly.

The bomb hidden in an ambulance exploded at Kabul’s police checkpoint near the Afghan Interior Ministry’s Offices, and the European Union consulate.
