The celebration promotes the spread of the French language and tightens the solidarity of the French speaking community. Abdou Diouf, Secretary-General of the International Francophonie Organization, will visit Vietnam and attend the official celebration in Hanoi.

French speakers around the world celebrate the International Day of Francophonie every March 20th, honoring the French language, which is spoken by 220 million people in 77 countries and territories.
