(VOVworld) - The international community has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that claimed over 31 lives in China’s northwestern city of Urumqi on Thursday.

In a statement on Thursday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon said there was no justification for the killing of civilians and hoped that those responsible would be brought to justice. On the same day, the European Union and India strongly criticized the attack saying it was horrible and vile to attack innocent civilians. The Chinese government has set up an anti-terrorism operation to deal with the increasing violence.
