Party leader Trong delivered the statement at a national conference of agencies in charge of internal affairs across the country on Wednesday to implement the 13th National Party Congress Resolution. 

He affirmed that internal affairs agencies must always be firm in their political orientation, be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the people, the Party, State and the regime, defend justice, and protect human rights and citizens' rights.

It is necessary to be close to the people, grasp the concept of "people is the root" in thinking and action, define the people as the center and subject of national renewal, construction and defense, and consider the peaceful and happy life of the people as a goal to strive for and as a source of joy, Mr. Trong said.

He added that the agencies have actively given useful advice to the Party and State in directing the settlement of corruption and negative phenomena in a timely and strict manner, thus affirming the Party and State’s determination and efforts to combat corruption without  any exceptions.
