(VOVworld) - The first Indian Film Festival in Vietnam, co-hosted by the Embassy of India in Vietnam and the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will take place in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City from December 12 to 23. Vietnamese audiences will have a chance to see the 8 most popular Bollywood films, which show a glimpse of the life of Indian people and the development of Indian cinema over the past decade. A film conference will be held in Hanoi on December 19th at which film makers from the two countries will find opportunities for future collaboration.

At a press conference on Thursday, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Shrimati Preeti Saran said: “This provides us an opportunity to introduce Indian cinema to the Vietnamese audience. We want to use the Indian Film Festival to introduce Indian film makers to Vietnamese film makers, to explore opportunities for joint film production. We therefore hope that the film festival will give a major boost to bilateral trade and tourism, to people and people contacts, and to enhance understanding of each others’ societies and cultures.”
