Ambassador Harish said he sees a huge potential for bilateral relations, especially since they were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He said Vietnam and India are making an effort to reach a trade target of 15 billion USD by 2020. Many Indian businesses are looking to invest in Vietnam in oil, gas, solar, wind, energy, agriculture, agro-business, mining, and textiles. The two countries have strong defense and security cooperation and education and training cooperation between the two armed forces is emerging as an area of huge potential.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and nine other ASEAN leaders will attend the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-India dialogue and a summit to commemorate ASEAN-India ties on Thursday. PM Phuc and his Indian counterpart Narenda Modi are expected to sign agreements on bilateral cooperation.
