The first Defense Diplomatic Strategic Dialogue between the two countries was originally planned for last year but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Leaders of the two sides will discuss a number of issues: Situation in Afghanistan, impacts on regional security, cooperation in production of defense equipment and weapons, and the possibility of Russia transferring a nuclear-powered submarine to India.
According to plan, Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi shortly after the Ministerial Dialogue.
