(VOVworld) - Bangladeshi President Md. Abdul Hamid is on a state visit to Vietnam from August 9-13 at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang. An official reception was held at the Presidential Palace on Monday for President Hamid who is visiting Vietnam for the first time as Bangladesh’s President. President Truong Tan Sang hailed the visit, noting that the visit is of great importance to consolidating and developing bilateral ties. He said Vietnam has always paid much attention to developing ties with Bangladesh. At talks following the reception, President Sang and President Hamid expressed their delight at both countries’ growing traditional relations and multifaceted cooperation. They agreed on more exchanges of high-level visits, delegations, and people between Vietnam and Bangladesh in the future. The two sides shared economic development experience, especially in agriculture and personnel training, and discussed regional and global issues of shared concern. The two leaders expressed their belief that this visit will contribute to reinforcing traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
